Holidays are an important rendez-vous to break off with daily routine and to stock up on energy and well-being. Here following we are intended to give useful information also to people with reduced mobility in order to inform them about what to do while on holiday in the Gran Paradiso area.

Concerning the hospitality useful information about accommodation equipped for disabled is on the brochure "Il Gran Paradiso delle Vacanze".

In Aosta Valley people with reduced mobility  have the opportunity to reach locations high in the mountain driving their car on  country roads. The disability mark on their vehicle allows them to drive on all regional roads.

In particular these are among the roads accessible to disabled with reduced mobility:

  • - Vallone di Vertosan
  • - Valgrisenche - the Hut Chalet de l'Epee
  • - Saint-Pierre - Vetan - the meadows road
  • - Sarre - the meadow road to lake Fallère
  • - Rhêmes-Notre-Dame - the road reaching the Hut Benevolo (the hut is not accessible).

In winter the Regional Ski Instructors Association is qualified to teach to disable people, equipment is also provided.

To experienced skiers we suggest the resort Rhêmes-Notre-Dame where the slopes have already been tested. In there skiers have also the possibility to utilise the services of the Foyer de fond (cloakroom, toilettes).

Other interesting destinations accessible to disabled people are:

  • Arvier: the cave Cooperativa Enfer
  • Introd: the Museum Jean-Paul II in Les Combes and the building La Maison Bruil in Introd siege of exhibitions in summer.
  • Rhêmes-Notre-Dame: the path from Chanavey to Bruil and the National Park Visitors centre (open daily in summer, on week-end in some periods of the year)
